BECOMING A MEMBER 

 

Whether you are just starting out as a student, or you are interested in finding out more about what we can offer new and experienced teachers, please contact our head office team who will be happy to help answer any queries.

 

We have teaching members across the United Kingdom and Internationally and are building a network very rapidly.  

 

We offer our Members many services including:

 

  • Refresher Courses

  • Top-Up Qualifications

  • POS Taster Courses

  • POS Training Sessions

  • Non-Syllabus Fun Days

  • Annual Meetings

  • Regional Meetings

 

Membership is renewable every 12 months following satisfaction of our membership criteria. There are various levels of Membership available.

LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP

Full Teaching Membership 

Available to those teachers, currently teaching and hold a recognised teaching Associate/Licenciate/Fellowship with either IDT or another recognised society (evidence of such will need to be provided in all cases).  It is expected that teaching members of the association attend  at least one CPD event each year and also enter candidates for examination at least once per year.  Membership fees should be fully up-to-date prior to entering candidates for examination or booking onto a CPD event.

 

Teachers that do not meet this standard will be expected to quantify in writing to the Association the reasons for this.

Affiliate/Training Membership 

Allows teachers to enter candidates for examination whilst enrolled on the IDT CDTL programme.  Affiliate Members must show evidence of attaining at least an Intermediate Certificate in their chosen dance genre with IDT or another recognised society. 

 

Affiliate Members who fail to meet the required standard within the 36 month period will be withdrawn from the IDT CDTL programme and will be unable to enter candidates for examination. 

 

Student Membership 

Available to students aged 14+ who are preparing for major examinations.   All candidates being entered for Major Examinations must hold current student membership of the Association.

Full Teaching Member: Annual Fee £70.00  

Affiliate/Training Member: Annual Fee £80.00 

Footsteps Only Member: Annual Fee £45.00 )

Student Member: Annual Fee £35.00
